Amy Hayes developed the idea for her collection of cancer-awareness note cards in 2005, during her first 6 weeks of chemotherapy. At that point she knew that cancer would not defeat her, but would give her life additional purpose.
Each Hāz for Hope note card is handmade and combines her many years of graphic- and fashion-design experience with her love of unique, textured papers and/or special printing techniques. Even though making the cards is therapy for her, her ultimate hope in designing and hand making them herself is that each and every note card will touch the heart of someone dealing with cancer. In every Hāz for Hope note card, a prayer is placed that those touched by cancer will be blessed in some way by their disease, as she feels she has been.
