Combination Therapy Reduces HER2 positive Breast Cancers

A combination of lapatinib, trastuzumab and paclitaxel significantly improved tumor response rates than either agent alone among patients with HER2-positive breast cancers, according to data presented at the 33rd Annual CTRC-AACR San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium.

The Breast Form Fund, CancerCare, Cancer Resource Foundation, and Luminous Breast Cancer Foundation announce a partnership to combine fundraising efforts to support women with breast cancer. The first fundraiser for the newly formed All4One Alliance is the 2011 Show Us Your BRA! Calendar, a wall calendar which features humorous, cleverly-named "bra-art" to inspire the viewer and to raise awareness about the importance of post-mastectomy apparel and prostheses in maintaining the health and well-being of women recovering from and living with this illness.

Link between Breast Cancer and Air Pollution

Air pollution has already been linked to a range of health problems. Now, a ground-breaking new study suggests pollution from traffic may put women at risk for another deadly disease. The study, published in the journal Environmental Health Perspectives by researchers from McGill University and Universite de Montreal links the risk of breast cancer to traffic-related air pollution.
