Denim Day is a Success at the Marlborough School
November 4, 2007
by Vicki Tashman
The Marlborough School in Los
Angeles celebrates Denim Day every year. At the
all-girls school, Denim Day means a student can wear jeans to school by paying
$5. This year, Pink-Link was one of the beneficiaries chosen to receive some of
the funds raised. In response, Pink-Link and FHI Heat donated pink t-shirts to
the first 100 girls to pay their $5.
“The girls were so excited about receiving a t-shirt,” said
Laurie Brown, Director of Community Service for the school, “usually the girls
bring their money in the day of, but not this year!”
The t-shirts donated had “It’s not just a chick thing” on
the front and the Pink-Link/ FHI Heat logo on the back. Pink-Link received a
check for $550 from the Marlborough
School!
